Enchanting Art Nouveau lockets, just in time for The Holidays. An exhilarating burst of fireworks explodes across this gorgeous Victorian locket. Falling sparks are engraved across the glossy gold-filled locket, set with glittering white paste stones that trace the cascading lines. The locket's back is hand engraved with a monogram that appears to read "PG." The interior is nice and clean, with two intact frames and a tight clasp. This ebullient piece hangs on a gold-filled cable chain. The locket's interior is marked "W&H Co." in a heart-shaped cartouche. Circa 1890.
Wightman & Hough Company started in the mid-1800s, producing very popular lockets until 1922. Their slogan was, "There's a heart in every locket!" referring literally to their heart-shaped maker's mark and metaphorically to the sentimental nature of the lockets themselves.
Details.....The chain is 20" long, and the locket measures 1.20" in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
